In my president’s message two years ago, I offered that my view for PIHRA could be stated in eighteen words: “PIHRA is a professional association dedicated to the continuous enhancement of human resources through networking, learning and advocacy.”
Now, 6,000 words later, my time comes to an end and Wayne Munyer takes over. I urge you to be supportive of Wayne’s efforts and actively participate in making our Association a continually better value for our members.
During our time together we have realized enhancements including, but not limited to:
- Operating in the black each of the last four years
- Independent audits commending our return to financial stability
- Establishing measurable goals and objectives for the Executive Director and tethering compensation to this plan of work
- Connection to the social media universe with a presence on Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
- A vastly improved web presence
- Routine activity reports to the District leadership
- Periodic teleconferences with District Finance and Membership leaders
- Static email addresses for leaders
- Leadership meetings throughout our geography
- Electronic voting for Board and District elections
- Systems for gathering and accessing educational offerings
- Money-back guarantees for PIHRA-wide presentations
- More HRCI pre-certified content sessions than ever before
- More member-centric conferences
- Presentations to international delegations visiting our headquarters
- Contributions to national media on human resources matters
- Encouraging our past presidents to continue sharing their expertise
We have much yet to accomplish, but the trend line is pointing in the right direction. I thank each of you who have contributed to making this happen.
